Water Safety & Surf Lifesaving Swimming  classes will start as follows this Autumn /Winter 2010

Athy

Athy Swimming Pool (K-Leisure Pool)

12 Week Course

Water Safety Classes for Children 7+, Teenagers , Adults

(Strictly over 7 , children must be able to swim without the use of aids ie armbands)

Saturaday evening at 5.30 -6.45 pm

Starts - Restart to be confirmed

Class teaches Basic Rescue Technique, Stroke correction , Simple water Skills -Threading water , Surface Diving , Resusciatation  etc - can progress to Lifeguard Awards

Book on the night 15 minutes before the session starts.

Cost 6 euro per class

 

Celbridge

St. Raphaels Pool -Celbridge

Water Safety Classes Age 14 +

Restarts -Restart date to be confirmed

Training in Basic Life Support and Water Rescue Techniques. This class is aimed at 14 years + (Classes thursday evenings)
Please note there is very limited capacity in this class

 

Curragh

Water Safety Classes for 7-12yrs 

Wednesday evening at 7.00-7.50pm

Restart date-Restart date to be confirmed

Class teaches Basic Rescue Technique, Stroke correction , Simple water Skills -Threading water , Surface Diving etc Cost 4 euro

Children must be able to swim with out the aid of armbands

 

Water Safety Classes for 13yrs+, Adults

Wednesday evening at 8.00-8:50pm

Restart date-Restart date to be confirmed

Class teaches basic & Advanced Rescue Techniques, Stroke correction , Simple water Skills -Threading water , Surface diving, non-contact

and contact swimming rescue, Basic life support etc Cost 4 euro

 

Naas Swimming Pool (K-Leisure Pool)

Water Safety & Lane Swimming session for Juniors
(Age 7 to 13) Saturday Morning starting September 18th at 8.30 am to 10.00 am.
This session will  combine: - Swims & Safety Awards  and Surf Lifesaving  
Cost €6, (10% discount if you pay for 10 weeks upfront) Registration for this session will take place on the first day of the course approx 15 mins before the start. 10-week course.
or Junior Water Safety only class start at 9.15am to 10.00am
Saturday Morning starting September 18th
This session will  combine: - Swims & Safety Awards  
Cost €4,  Registration for this session will take place on the first day of the course approx 15 mins before the start. 10-week course.
Water Safety -Basic & Advanced Rescue Techniques, Stroke correction , Simple Water Safety Skills -Threading water , Surface diving, Non-contact and Contact swimming rescues, Basic Life Support.
Surf Lifesaving -Lane Swimming Coaching, Stoke correction, Use of the rescue can and tube, U/water swimming & surface diving, preparation for water safety competitions and surf events such as : Surf race ,Board race ,Relay , Flags, Ironman /Iron woman, Rescue tube, Board rescue, Beach sprint, Ski, Taplin relay
Juniors need to be able to swim without the aid of armbands.
Water Safety session for Seniors (Age 14+), Adults
Thursday evening Naas Swimming Pool
New course start Thursaday September 16th
This session will  combine: - Rescue 1,2,3,4 and Surf Lifesaving - Thursdays at 9.00pm to 10.30pm.
Cost €6, (10% discount if you pay for 10 weeks upfront) Registration for this session will take place on the first night of the course approx 15 mins before the start.
Water Safety -Basic & Advanced Rescue Techniques, Stroke correction , Simple Water Safety Skills -Threading water , Surface diving, Non-contact and Contact swimming rescues, Basic Life Support.

Anyone can join our swimming club no matter what fitness or ability level they are currently at.

Kildare Water Safety Swimming club provide the opportunity for individuals to swim recreationally (for fun and fitness), and/or for those who want to swim competitively to achieve their personal best!

IWS/ILAM Ireland, Pool Lifeguard Award July 2010 PDF Print E-mail

The aim of the IWS/ILAM Ireland, Pool Lifeguard Award is to enable a candidate to act as a designated lifeguard, trained in pool rescue and BLS techniques. He/She will also have an awareness of first aid and pool water management.

Course starts July in the K-Leisure  Naas Swimming Pool  Complex  off the Newbridge Road and will take place on  Thurs evening , Fri evening  & Saturdays morning  -Starting July 8th  to July 24th for 3 weeks , Thurs 9-10.30pm, Fridays 7.30 to 10.30pm Saturdays 8.30am to 12.30pm

Cost of course is €230 per person.

Revalidation Course/Exam on July 24th- 8.30am to 12.30am

Cost €90 per person

Start on the 6th March and run for ten weeks the dates are as follow
6th 13th 20th 27th March
3rd 17th 24th April
8th 15th 22nd May

They will all take place on saturday evenings @5.30pm at K-Leisure Athy Swimming Pool
